Today

Today I just look around
And my human rights was taken
Right from under me
As people scramble for security
Fearing a terrorism bred from injustice
Not realizing what is been asked of them
Will not solve the problem
Only serve the interest of a few
The war mongers and begrudgers

Today they fashion laws
Trying hard to justify, the injustices
Criminalizing the poor
Those deemed different
Filling my ear with rhetoric
While murdering behind lies
Robbing and pillaging at will
Humanity paying the price
With blood, carnage, sweat and tears

Today I wonder of the people
Accepting and allowing this existence
Forgetting the people’s strength in numbers
The personal obligation to humanity
Looking to false leaders for solutions
As tyrants and murderous are put on pedestals
Instituting policies of  oppression and injustice
People scrambling for survival
The double edged sword providing excuses
So we can dehumanize
As selfishness and hypocrisy comes to rule

Today I am at a lost
This mis-education
The convincing of the people
That the strong should prey on the weak
Having the poor fighting the poor
To keep the poor oppressed
People lost in Hollywood dreams
A reality all about imagery
Where truths follow
Any number of scripts
Eroding the foundations needed

Today I would like to know
About my human rights
About the worlds human rights
Seeing how fears and cowardice
Mis-edducation and inaction
Have us accepting these excuses given
For some to rob, pillage and kill at will
To take away, to give away, my human rights
Your human rights, the world’s human rights.
Today I must say I cannot surrender my human rights.
