I see grand edificesElaborate structures as symbols of institutionsI see institutions that have become shells Institutions for justice Institutions for equality and humanity Yet I see the constant efforts to advanceInstitutions of military might Institutions of law and orderSo called collective security What sort of justice will there be When stereotypes dominate popular sentiments And the ensuing actions are filled with biasesAs within any given society Some are labeled and victimizedEnsuring strive and upheavalStill dividing and conqueringYet the universality of man is realAs is the God HeadSo how could it be expectedI should just accept the injustice And when I look around to see the magnificence of structuresDefining religious institutionsAnd the pious airs with whichUs sinners enter said structuresYet we walk out and I have to wonderWhere is the loveThe universal loveThe love of God And what to think as I listenTo political leaders speaking whatPromises promises and more of thatLeaders playing the tough guy imageReady to bolster the status quoMaintaining and enacting unfair lawsJustifications to criminalize and oppress the poorYet speaking ever so quietly on the real issueJustice for all Each and every one of us And you my brother sister motherFather friend neighborsmembers of this diverse human raceDo you expect or want love Without baring your heart out there To be trampled onDo you want some justiceyet not dealing with your fellow man in kindHow much of whatever it is that you want Will you give of yourself freelyOr will you be a shell of you An elaborate structure Another grand edifice .
