Time to rewrite history Leaving out the whitewash Telling the truth Put it in the books Teach it in the schools Colleges and universities Most of all in the churches   When it comes to civilization All roads lead to Africa Wasn’t the Greeks They were late comers Sending scholars to the Timbuktus Seeking learning   Should the truth be told Maybe we could get some justice Able to live in peace Shatter the mis-conceptions Destroy the racist concept Cause the Africans Were never inferior   African history Did not begin four hundred years ago This history did not       Begin with slavery Slavery was just a new era What of beyond shackled slavery And it did not stop at Egypt Remember the Ethiopians to begin with   No more of the Tarzan business Depicting Africa as uncivilized The big lie to justify The inhumane act of slavery An easing of the consciences An excuse to stripe away Africa’s resources We have to rewrite the history     [Home] [About] [Contact Us] [Poetry] [My Poetry] [Featured Poem] [User Poems] [Three Poems] [Events] [Guidelines] [Legal]
