Hearing and not Hearing You
I hear you but I don't hear you
I hear you screaming for blood
Yes screaming for blood
Blood for the blood that was spilled
When it's time for blood I hear you

I don't hear you crying for justice
The justice that could stop the blood
I don't hear you telling your leaders
To seek the justice so as to have peace
I only hear you crying
When your leader ambitions are thwarted
When the blood of injustice is running

I don't hear you
When oppressive laws are passed
As collective security
Self induced paranoia
Reduces you to blundering fools
Trading away your human rights
For states rights and rulers rights
I only hear you
When human rights is abused
States and rulers rights are out of control
Then I hear you when the blood is running

What hypocrities you are
Sitting in silence
While innocent blood is been spilled
Never mindful of those dying under the gun
Once the trigger finger is your law and order
Your country and your friends
Your God
Want to hear you
Crying for the lost of life
Not only when the life lost
Belongs to your kin, friend and country

I don't hear you
Speaking out against the state of war
That is our daily existence
Accepting the reasons given
As to why we are oppressed
I hear you making excuses as to why
Masking your fears behind your excuses
Knowing you could be the next victim
Hoping the horrors don't pay you  a visit
And should these horrors come visiting
How loud would your cry for blood echo

I want to hear you before it's too late
Not when the blood is running
Too many youths have already died
Too many people suffered
Too many mothers crying
All because of our practiced injustice
Our policies of divide and rule
I want to hear you demanding justice
Teaching love for all
Yes speak now or forever hold your peace.
