A Reunion
I see mothers and fathers
So happy in those moments
Shared with their children
Looks of pride in parents eyes
Watching their young ones grow
And I feel the love that bubbles
And overflow between parents and children

I see children playing in childful unity
Such vigor and love
Unencumbered by hatred
The prejudices and the biases
And I must say there is a feeling of  hope
As youthful innocence
Reminds me of life’s beauties
Of what must be cherished

I relish these moments
Of love and loving
Of vigor, hope and innocence
Wanting to linger for eternity
In the warmth of these moments
That touches the soul
But been jolted back to a reality
Consumed with hatred and selfishness

And so why is it
That these moments
Depicting life’s beauties and possibilities
Takes on airs of fantasy
As too many parents and children
Seem to grow away from the loving
And children who once played
               In carefree unity
Embrace reasons to become
Adversaries and enemies
As hatred and indifference
Overshadows life’s beauties
